FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Local Figure Skating Coach, Tammy Gambill, was honored with the "P.S.A. Developmental Coach of the Year" this past week in Denver, Colorado. The Professional Skaters Association chose Gambill from a field of over 6000 coaches. In the past year alone, Gambill has coached 4 skaters to National and International titles. (12 year old Julie Kim of Corona was the Juvenile Girls Junior National Champion, 14 year old Austin Kanallakan of Lake Arrrowhead was the 2006 Novice Men's National Champion and won the silver at the Gardena Spring Trophy in Italy, Sandy Rucker, 17, of Yorba Linda was the Junior Ladies National Champion and won gold at the Gardena Spring Trophy, and 20 year old Dennis Phan won the Junior Grand Prix Final in Helsinki, Finland.) Gambill had 5 skaters who qualified out of the Sectionals to make it to U.S. Nationals, and 4 of her younger students qualified for Junior Nationals out of the South West Pacific Regionals. (**At the Regional the top 4 skaters in each discipline move on. In the Juvenile Girl's division, 3 out of the top 4 who went to Junior Nationals were coached by Tammy Gambill out of Riverside Icetown: Julie Kim of Corona, Arevik Martirosyan of Riverside, and Lindsay Davis of Rialto.) Gambill has single-handedly brought championship skating to the Inland Empire, and has brought home 8 National Medalist and 3 International Medalist since 2003!! Gambill's prize student, Dennis Phan of Indio, was just selected by the U.S.F.S.A. to compete at Skate America as one of the top male skaters representing the United States. Going into the 2006 Winter Olympics, Gambill has 3 students who are "Olympic Eligible" and skate at the Senior Level. (Dennis Phan, Felicia Beck, and Sandy Rucker).
